It is the goal of the project to integrate the young generations perspective into the Barbados +10 process: By fostering worldwide and local discussion among youth groups and individuals around 3 themes: island lifestyle and cultures, safeguarding island environments, Economic and employment opportunities; By participation of youth representatives in the Barbados+10 event and; By implementation of stakeholder driven projects derived from the discussion process Fulfillment of BFSD Members’ Project criteria: • International or scalable on an international level: All stages of the project are both regional and international • Multi-cultural or adaptable for different cultures: Participants from all regions are involved • Contribution to humanity / natural heritage: Especially the implementation phase addresses these issues • Sustainable Development aspect: The project is about a relevant age group’s reflection on sustainable development and their consequences Participation: • What type of collaborative effort might be possible? Mainly co-funding of this UNESCO initiative but also relevant for media coverage and dissemination • What elements might additional partners bring?
