An international environmental awareness and training program, LEAD was established by the Rockefeller Foundation with the main objective of training mid-career professionals about the complex issues of sustainable development. 

The program addresses future leaders from all sectors of society and is now in operation in Brazil, Canada, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Europe, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan and Southern Africa.
