The Bellagio Forum for Sustainable Development (BFSD) appoints new Executive Director

The Board of the BFSD appointed Mr. Per Rosenberg, to become its new Executive Director.

He will start in his new position from July 20^th.

The Board of the BFSD appointed Mr. Per Rosenberg, to become its new Executive Director. He will start in his new position from July 20^th.

Mr. Rosenberg has extensive international and management experience, including serving as the Director of WWF´s Global Forest and Trade Network, the President of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and many years in different international positions working with sustainable development.

He is well renowned for his competence, has long international experience and large networks in the fields of environment and sustainable development. With Mr. Rosenberg in charge, the Bellagio Forum will increase the cooperation between international foundations working for sustainable development, in turn making an imprint on the global agenda’, says Dr Ola Engelmark, chairman of the BFSD Board. 

‘Serving as the new ED of the Bellagio Forum is a great challenge’, says Mr. Rosenberg. ‘To turn BFSD’s mission - to provide major grant giving foundations with a platform for high level information exchange, common agenda setting and possible coordination, thereby increasing the effectiveness and impact of the global foundation capital - into reality, will make a major contribution to progress within the field of sustainable development’, Mr. Rosenberg continues.

The Bellagio Forum will focus its efforts in the coming years on issues relating to climate change, urban futures, investments, payments for biodiversity and the huge land use challenges arising from the food security/biofuels/agricultural and trade policy issues.
