Winner of the competition “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas“ / Deutsche Bank hands over the certificate of the Federal President

The Bellagio Forum is Winner of the competition "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas". As an exclusive partner of the German largest event series, the Deutsche Bank awarded the international renowned Forum as "Selected Landmark 2007". Markus Schmelter of the Deutsche Bank handed over a certificate signed by the patron of the competition, the Federal President Horst Köhler, to Hanns-Michael Hölz, Chairman of the Bellagio Forum for Sustainable Development.

Under the umbrella of the Bellagio Forum, companies, foundations and organizations are engaged to combine economical success, social progress and ecological requirements. The forum connects motivation with heart and thus to bring forward the whole society. “This unique commitment has model character “, justifies Markus Schmelter about the award. The Bellagio Forum has won the competition “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas”. In a Germany-wide competition, an independent jury has selected 365 landmarks from more than 1,500 applications to present themselves, their ideas and innovations to the public.

Every “Selected Landmark 2007” will present itself with and their ideas and innovations to the public on one day in 2007 with its own event; the Bellagio Forum will be on 31st May. The Forum is one of 31 awardees in Lower Saxony.

For the second time, the Deutsche Bank, as an exclusive partner of the competition, gets involved with the “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas”–initiative. “As a German Bank we are strongly rooted in Germany. Our special strength – particularly in a global competition – has its foundation on the ground. We know about the innovative power in our country. Therefore, as a bank of ideas in the Land of Ideas, we want to make a contribution to experience the variety of ideas and future in Germany”, explains Markus Schmelter of the Deutsche Bank.
